So ive been on these forums a good while and seen alot of the texas longhorns but just wondering what you guys thought of the UK longhorns so posting some pictures.

About 6 or 7 years ago we had a contigent from the UK Longhorn Society come out to our place and look at some of our cattle. We shared a lot of info back and forth with them. It was very interesting to see the differences in their Longhorns and the ones we raise here (even with our emphasis on making heavier, beefier animals).

Do you own any of those UK Longhorns?

No these longhorns are not ours they belong to a neighbour of ours, he has a herd of 120, they seem to be really improving more than ever recently.

They are some nice looking animals :D When I first started looking at getting some beef cattle I did look into trying to source some English Longhorns in Australia, however I couldn't find any breeders & I don't know if there are any breeders left in Australia I'm not saying there isn't just I can't find any.
 
No they have no shorthorn influence, they are one of if not the oldest breed of cattle in the UK which are still around.
 
Not 100% certain but aren't they the foundation breed for the Shorthorns? This was what I was led to believe when I was looking into different breeds
