Our UhOh went into labor this morning. We went ahead and pulled it but i think she would have had it ok. But you never know, sometimes these little heifers just give up halfway though...But, mother and baby bull are good. Not sure if i'll leave it on the heifer, shes just so small.

I've found that when we get a heifer bred at around 4 months, they dont grow good and at the end of their pregnancy, you can almost pick them out without looking for other signs... The rest of the group is way bigger. She obviously put a lot into her calf. He was around 50 pounds but she handled it just fine..

Leave the calf on the cow. She'll raise it.

She really loves her baby. I'll watch and if it looks like its going to keep the heifer from growing and keeping weight on i'll take it away.. I know she can raise it, but they always look so pitiful by weaning..

Just feed her a lot of good food! She deserves it! ;-)

Its a clover year this year, so maybe she'll do good. If the pastures dont get water though, i'll see about feeding her.

Have two UhOhs right now, bought them as open, should have had it confirmed, they are 11 months this month, one had her calf on the 11th, no problems. The other is loosening up, I'm expecting her calf anywhere between now and the end of next week. Dreading having to pull a calf at this point and hoping and praying she does as well as her sister, I myself am 7 months pregnant and didn't really want to have to calve this year, especially right now when the hubby is out farming and can't get home to help and I've never pulled a calf by myself!
Still weighing our options about keeping them, planning on weaning the calves early and already have them on the best groceries so I guess we will see where they are when we get ready to AI!
