Udders and milk

30 hrs into weaning the cow udders are well engorged.
I was wondering when you would or at what stage of a cows production do you like to "judge" the udders.

And if you had a head or two that would put up with being milked. Would now be a good time to put some in the freezer for just in case. If so would you milk just one and let nature take it's course on the others or would you try to provide all with alittle relief? Tigerstripes included ;-)

i judge an udder at calving and then during lactation. if a calf can get on teats easily they get a satisfactory. during lactation i'll keep an eye out for things such as blind quarters, etc. just be honest about it--if an udder is shot, its shot. where you run into trouble is when you are like ..well...i'll just keep her around one more year... they only get worse.
