Udder Issues?

I am seeing a lot of variation:

One heifer has a light front quarter, and another has a light side. Is any of this due to the calf' habits?

One cow looked fine last year, but now has three normal teats and one front teat that is ballooned. What causes this?

how old is the calf. Could be the calf has used that quarter yet.

we have a shorthorned cow that has two really big teats, I mean the size of beer can big and she is only 5 yrs old. we thought about sending her to the slaughter house because of this but the calf eventually gets them sucked down after a week or two so we might keep her another year or two. she raises a dandy calf it's just the initial first couple of weeks that I worry about. has anyone had trouble with milk fever, etc.

I probably wouldn't want to retain any heifers from her. Its hard to cull a cow that raises a good calf but sooner or later those teats probably will cause you to lose a calf from her unless you watch her very closely after calving. Then of course you'll be asking yourself why you kept her. One of my prettiest heifers just calved and I'm not liking what I see in regards to teat size. I may calve her one more time and then probably cull her.
