I have semen on both of these Gelbvieh bulls in the tank right now. I have seen both bulls in person as a friend of mine bred, raised and owns 50% of both of them. Cabo has seen this younger bull. He sold for 8k (50% ownership). He is out of the syndicated Post Rock Silver bull. I may use him on mature, commercial cows.
He is named Bodacious 1297Y his reg # is 1200762. Basic epd's - CE 7 BW 2.7 WW 93 YW 140 MK 36 CED 7 FM 57.35

This bull sold for 10k half ownership. He is out of Montana Infusion. He makes incredible daughters as well as really good bulls. I think Cabo's bull was sired by this one. His name is CMFS7132T and his reg# is 1049026. I used him on a couple of commercial cows last year and got one bull calf that really grew off well. Tell me what you like and dislike about them.

I like bull number 2 he seems to carry more muscle down through the lowere quarter and looks deeper. Both are nice bulls but if I had to pick one over the other I would pick number 2.

Looks to me like they are maternal 1/2 brothers.

I like the MOntana bull better!

The dam is a donor cow. She looks to have 65 or better calves registered to her. She is an oldie but goodie.

The first bull will have power and shape when mature compared to the second bull, but he is very straight hocked. The second bull is sound, carry good, long, soft muscle, but looks a lot more like an angus than a gelbvieh

second bull has much better numbers but please post all the scores like marbling, ft, feedlot and carcass valves just don't list the good ones because some times you can see holes in ones numbers.

VJQM VV'S ENERGIZER 8 - AMGV1220203 here is a calving ease growth and meat quality bull he sells the 23 of feb in the seedstock plus sale lot 338

I didn't feel like typing all that on my smart phone. My big fingers keep screwing up stuff. I'll add them here on my home pc.

I also thought he looked like an angus - head shape, body type, and being black. I looked up Gelbvieh and they are yellow or golden brown. Maybe Hoss mixed up some photos. Don't know why anyone would make Gelbviehs black, because without being angus, they would never qualify for the Certified ANGUS Beef program.

Gelbvieh literally means "yellow cattle" in German, and the breed originated as golden brown cattle with dark hooves and full body pigmentation.

Hang in there Hoss, you probably won't sell many cattle to the naysayers anyway. Tommy really has 7132 looking good.

Doesn't bother me Cabo. Not my bulls. I like them both for different reasons and will use them both for different reasons. Everybody has a preference and there is no perfect bull. Hey are you coming to the sale this year? It is March 2nd.

exactly my thoughts, but I do like the bull, reminds me of our old Right Time son 'Just Right', and if he breeds anything like that old boy he'll give you some really sound cows to work with and useful sons. Wish I could figure out how to post pictures here......

Hoss the running gears under the first bull is not a good thing to put in a cow herd.
Red Bull, I plan to use him on some commercial cows........nothing to be retained all terminal. I think he will add meat on some steers.

I sure will tell him.......I hope you get to feeling better. Maybe you can make it next year.

I did not look closely at the birthdates on these bulls, but am guessing the #2 bull is older than #1, with that said I believe that is why he is showing a little more muscle expression and, however I do like the #2 bull. I think he is a more complete package.
