Don't be mislead by labels. I guarantee you it is "not" the same as what would be fed on a dairy operation. Everybody has what they call a "Dairy Ration".

Are you familiar with the feed? It is a pellet, not a textured sweet feed. It is sold to dairies and we have been using it for years for our milk cows. They produce well on it and remain in good condition. Lots of cream too. The label info can be seen here:

The label simply proves my point. High ADF, mostly grain by-products, some cheap ingredients and WHY do you put mineral oil in a feed?? That's a petroleum product with no nutritional value at all. Roughage makes butterfat, not grain although if it has enough grain it will help raise the milk protein levels. It's a typical "over the counter" feed. Nothing special about it. You could do much better but it might cost more too but would be worth it.

It is very hard to find a dairy feed around here. Even then, we have to drive 100+ miles to Bryan.
We fed ACCO dairy feed about 5 years ago. A local feed store ordered for us. It was a sweet feed and it didn't store well. It also cost $18.50 per 50 lb bag. We had to buy it by the pallet. :/
