Our little country church wanted to help in some way in the relief efforts for those displaced from Katrina. We has places for about 50 families. All in all there was expected to be around 1000 folk come to the Ohio Valley. I know that doesn't sound like many.
Just got word yesterday that no one will be comming. We were told that most of the folk want to stay closer to home.

Kinda dissapointing, ya know. Get all geared up just to be told no.

Cert - that may just be blessing in disquise.

It probably is. I saw on the news where alot of those folks have gone to Nashville and Memphis as well as some other towns here in middle Tennessee. I expect the crime rate to go up pretty quick. I know that probably sounds bad but that's more than likely what will happen.

That same cold might keep them indoors and out of trouble in the next few months!

Yup, was looking forward to ordering....er.....I mean, offering our home to 2-6 poor unfortunate young ladies between the ages of 25 and 35, preferably blondes or redheads, who were willing to help keep house , cook, and work the farm....I suppose it would be asking to much if I required a picture of them for approval before they got here huh?

O.K. we know for sure the real Medic is back. It ain't no imposter. He had me going since he hasn't had a accident today.

Well hat creek, around here I can bet ya...if a bunch of folks from N.O. came lookin for me I dont think there would be to much of a problem knowing who they were............every one here knows every one else, and who wasn't here yesterday, and for that matter, who don't belong today..............We keep these folks in our evening devotional prayers nightly....... even though they are far different in sooooooo many ways then us, we still feel for them, and we can understand the desire to stay close to home...even if it is a hellhole at the moment.

Think about leaving your place........I would be very resistant to do it myself. :cboy:
