We had 1.5” on Monday, and 2” 9 days prior so things are starting to look up, at least in the pastures. We've finally been getting some April showers. Best one today and still raining. How about the north country?View attachment 46338

Two dairy heifers for nurse cow prospects.Ya got a milk cow in there with'em?
July 3When will you turn in with cows?
We don’t sync the heifers. Will they get 30 days also?
Do you sync any of the heifers?
Sometimes they get put in the same pasture as 2 year olds with calves are and gathered a couple months later. Last year they got 11 months off. Both red bulls this year are old and heavy enough to take their last ride to town. The bulls you pull from thr heifers. Do they get eleven months off or do the go with the cows?
Do you pull out any bulls after 21 days and leave a few bulls left to prevent possible fighting and body condition issues? They were quite busy yesterday. There are 6 with 150 heifers and will stay in for 30 days.

Someone else can do that experiment Ken, they are on the truck for the sale this morning. It would be an interesting exercise to leave the 20% with a bull and see how long they they take to get in calf. In my limited experience I find those that don't conceive early take a bit to get them in calf.
