Have used turkey litter. It is not quite as good as chicken but better than hen litter. It will depend on the soil test or farm plan. I can use 2 1/2 ton twice a year on my pastures and 5 tons twice on hay field per farm plan. The cost here is 40 per load from owner. The haul is 25 for loading and 3 per mile to field.
 
Gail, can't give you any facts or figures but folks have been using it around here for years. Some bad smelling stuff too when first put out. Have a dairyman friend that has been putting in on his place for ages and puts up some of the best hay in the country.
 
Check with the extension service. They've been pitching it's use for years.
 
We use it, a lot of bang for the buck. Mine is running $25/ton del/spread. I've heard of others in the area paying $30-$35/ton and some folks south of us are paying a lot more than that. Usually put down 2 tons/acre on the hayfields and 1.5-2 tons on the pastures. Need to run soil samples on your land yearly and substitute in chemical fertilizer from time to time to keep things in balance. I'm putting chemical on a lot of the hayfields this year, just about crapped myself when I saw what it was going to cost. I've noticed the fields we use litter on do not require lime as often as the chemically fertilized ones.
