Had to tube feed a calf for the first time this morning. All seemed to go well but im still worried if i did it right being its my first time. Im guessing that if i was in the wind pipe 3 liters would have killed the calf on the spot ? Calf walked out of the barn and went right to mom. Calf didnt cough as i was doing guess im probably worring about nothing

if you had done it wrong, it would be dead, in seconds.

Let the calf swallow the tube, don't force, and you will be fine.

Sounds like you did fine.

I have tubed hundreds of them and I still worry every time because I have killed one or two. Just remember to go down the left side.

If you keep the calves neck stretched straight and make sure you can feel the little ball on the end of the tube through the calves neck you are in the right spot. If you can't feel the ball pull the tube out completely and try again.
