Sunday night, after the kids left, I let the cows out of one pasture and prepared to move them to another. They walked by the GMC and 2 got into a shoving match. One went into the side of the truck. Hubby was livid and beside himself. After he calmed down, he says, "Which cow did that?!"
My answer - the black one (they are all black). He says, "I want her sold on Thursday!"
I tried to pull the dent, but no avail. We took it to a body shop owned by a friend and he says he might be able to fix it, but it might need replacement. Ok, so I call State Farm this morning.
Here's the phone call - verbatim. I promise.
T - "I'd like to file a claim on my truck"
Operator (O) - "Ok, let me get some preliminary information. (name, address, policy #, etc.) What was the date of the Accident?"
T - Sunday night. I'm not sure you would call this an "accident". Perhaps I should tell you the story before you ask any more questions.
O - NOPE! I have a series of questions I have to ask IN ORDER. We'll get to the details in a second. Ok, so the Accident was Sunday night. What time.
T - (being the non-confrontational person that I am) Sixish.
O - Location of the Accident?
T - My house.
O - That would be Cameron?
T - Yes.
O - Ok. Tell me how this happened.
T - Well, see, there was this cow....
O - giggles.
T - and she hit the side of the truck.
O - (Obviously hysterical) Was the truck moving?
T - No, it was parked.
O - Laughing says "Was the cow drunk?" Then before I could say anything, she drops off laughing and was in tears.
T - "Oh, that was good. No, we didn't test for drugs or alcohol. There was another cow she was fighting with and that one pushed her into the truck."
O - Beside herself - "Cows fight???"
T - All the time. And when they do, it is best to stay out of their way.
O - That's some good advice. So, can you describe the location and extent of the damage?
T - Driver's side, rear quarter panel. Huge - huge dent.
O - Laughing - I can only imagine.
I'm sure I made her day. I'm still chuckling about it. I called hubby and asked him if he thought the cow was drunk or if we needed to start a Alcoholics Anonymous for the herd.
