Trencher thoughts

I’m looking for a trencher for my excavation business, I do utility installation and repair. It won’t be used every day, but is a necessary evil.

I’ve found a Case/Davis Taskforce 300, appears to be in good shape. It’s a small track machine with a backfill blade. Anyone have any experience with these units? Thank you for any feedback!

I've used a lot of Ditch Witch trenchers with similar configuration. Lots easier than using a shovel. When we were building substations every piece of steel in the place had to be grounded and the cables covered the entire yard. With a good running unit it's pretty amazing how quickly you can trench. But you will still need that shovel.

If you have a skid steer, get an attachment. These work well and just unhook and use other attachments to dig/cover etc.

I like the skid steer trencher too. They aren’t pricey to rent and easy to throw in the back of a pickup. I use them whenever I need to bury a power or propane line on the place.
