I set up where the food is, gives me a chance to get them while they are stopped eating. The acorns would be my choice. Scent killer, cow crap on the boots, scent free shower, scent killer on all my gear and only move my head in slow movements when necessary. Here in Texas we run corn feeders so I have the advantage of that. Most of the big ones stay leary of those and this year with everything green I have to think outside the box. Buck bombs with the dominant buck scent work GREAT during the rut. They have brought in the monsters. Every year I cut the tarsal glands off the buck I shoot and put in in the freezer. I pull them out the next season and hang them from a bush in front of my stand. This really pisses the dominent buck in the area and brings him in. Just some of my tricks I have learned on my own throughout the year.
