trash pump

I need a water pump to fill my sprayer from pond water. Any suggestions on what to look for or what to avoid? I am not to familiar with some of the brand names and I know most are imports so a name would help. I am not looking for anything special, just something that will start easily with low maintenance. My sprayer is 300 gallons.

Wacker makes a pretty good pump. I like the Honda motors. They usually start first pull. Pumps with the plastic pump housings never have held up that well for me. A 2 inch pump with a 3.5-5.0 hp motor will fill your tank in a hurry.

Honda makes a couple of these pumps. I own one and have never had a problem starting it.

Thanks Terra. A Honda is what I bought. The Wackers that bear mentioned seem to be fine pumps but the Honda was a bit cheaper and they both had the same motor.
