When you pick up a bale of hay in the field and it's full of hornets, a cab is a lovely thing!

You know, at that point in time, the additional $$$ for a cab seems pretty minor. I sure like seeing hornets outside my cab windows. Got torn up bad by hornets as a teenager. Don't want it to happen again.

Yep, drove into a barn a few days ago getting out some hay, noticed about 15 - 20 red wasp attacking the exahust pipe. Another time had the exhaust whiff some out of a tree, wasn't as lucky that time cause I was on an open air tractor. I was glad to be inside the a cab the day a swarm of bees flew thru also.

cabs are great for keeping you safe from all the wasp hornet an bee stings.ive never been in a swarm while on an open tractor.an i dont want tobe.

I am very proud of my cab with air. Bailing hay this time of year get off not all itching and burning from the dust ect. In past year go to the river for a quick dip or hurry home for a shower. Besides just watch the temp gauge for the heat not yourself. It is tough when you have to get out and attend to the baler or.

So you ran out of grass to bale and started baling hornets' nests? You must like that new baler.

I figure that sucker will bale anything.

I know its mean, but when I know there are bumblebees in a field, I like to make sure I'm doing the raking, not the rolling

You're sure right about that, Dun. It never fails that when baling, the baler always trips full when you're parked right over the top of the ground hornet's nest. Cuttin' and rakin' I can usually get away from them. Sure wish I had one the had a full cab - and A/C!

Almost as bad as when you close the door on your cab tractor, fire it off and realize you now have a huge wasp nest IN the cab....

I wish i had a cab or canopy on our tractors, last summer i cut 50 acres and the tempature was around 103 and the sole of my boots actually stuck to floor, the heat off the engine and exhaust added more heat and i was lucky i didnt suffer heat stroke or something worse.

It's amazing what any kind of a canopy or umbrella does for making the temps more bareable. When I put a canopy on my old tractor it about doubled the amount of time I could be working in the sun before I needed to come in out of the sun.

Cab=Warm in the winter, cool in the summer, can listen to favorite cd or radio while I work, keeps dust off of me, keeps me from getting as bad of a sun burn, keeps bees from stinging me, etc.
Hot as the :devil2: when the ac craps out, but otherwise pretty 8) .

When you ACCIDENTLY run over a 20 lb gopher turtle a cab WOULD HAVE BEEN a lovely thing to keep the innards from hitting you in the face.
 :cry2:

Trying to run from them while cutting and to have the sickle break back was a time I worry as it was reset. We call them bumblebees.

i love the cab on my old case 585. It is really good in winter when you are feeding out while it is snowing or raining it is so nice to have a dry seat. In summer it comes into its own when bailing keeping me out of the sun and out of the dust. Its nice to get off the tractor at the end of the day and not be completly wrecked :cboy:
