Well, not the first time I've been wrong-- or the last. More than anything else, the Ohio State game last night sealed Big12's fate.
So now, will all the SEC complaining stop?
Will all the complaining about the committee here at CT end--do you still think there was a "fix" and they are idiots--or....funny how they become genius when they decide the way ya want them to ain't it?

I think they got the right four teams, the big 12 needs to develope a tie breaker for conference champion. Then add two teams and play a conference championship game, get their conference up to speed with the other power 4.

I just want the best opponent possible, with luck you belong to a couple of noles message boards. Do yourself a favor, get all the noles fans to start donating boxes of wheaties .... They'll need it.

The Big 12 organization already had a standing protocol for determining a conf champ in the case of a tie--they just ignored it this year, stated they would not anoint a conf champion and would leave it up to committee--then committee said it was not their place to define a conf champ. I agree with the committee's statement too--deciding a conf champ was not their responsibility. Why Big12 decided to abdicate their responsibility probably centered around TCU's success and higher ranking by the committee based on the quality of their wins and schedule--Big12 didn't want to take a chance that a weak Baylor team would be the only team committee considered.

The following procedure will determine the Big 12 Conference representative to the Sugar Bowl (or alternate College Football Playoff game when the Sugar Bowl is a semifinal) in the event of a first-place or alternate place tie (for the avoidance of doubt, only Conference records will be used throughout the process):

If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.

In years that the Sugar Bowl doesn’t host a semifinal, it is where the Big 12 places its champion. So, this is essentially how the Big 12 determines its champion in this situation. Except this season, when league leaders decided not to do it that way.

Some rules have to change in order for Big12 to host a conf champion, and it's not just Big12 rules. It's NCAA rule that this conference must have 12 teams in order to have a conference playoff game. Big12 would have to petition NCAA to set aside that rule, and NCAA may not be willing to. Art Briles, even before the 4 team announcement, publicly reamed out Big12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby to his face about not following the protocol and justifiably so, but I don't think it made any difference--Baylor, IMO, isn't good enough to be in the top 4. and if most of the Big12 fan base doesn't think they are, why would the committee?

Easy enough you would think but with Texas demanding they always get the biggest slice of the pie it may never get any new members in the Big 12-2.
