Since several of you have never had the pleasure of this delicacy. me and my daughter decided that it would be perfect for supper tonight. I have never measured the ingredients but these pictures should give you a good idea of how it is made. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OVER INDULGENCE.
Frying pan and stove

I use 1 level spoon of grease
IMAG0157.jpg

1 heaping spoon of plain flour
IMAG0158.jpg

1 can of tomatoes you can use diced I chop these up in the pan
IMAG0159.jpg

Grease is hot med high or 3 o'clock on the dial stir till it starts to turn golden
IMAG0160.jpg

Dump in the tomatoes and chop and stir it will get thick pretty quick I add probably a cup of water you can add or subtract to suit your thickness

final product takes about 5 min start to finish. Salt and pepper to taste.

Looks great M5. Ive had tomoatoes with my biscuit and gravy lots but never put them together in the pan. Ill have to try it

M5--that first part's known as making a Roux (pronounced Ru) in Cajun country. You can buy roux premade in a jar most places in the southeast. A roux is just 'almost' burnt flour--or close to it. btw, if the roux turns grainy, you can always smooth it out with a little corn starch--it makes a really smooth grayvy.

I DO like the look of those biscuits. My wife uses some kind of biscuit mix that irritates the heck out of me. Not flaky--not bad--but they crumble all apart the second ya try to slice one open to butter it or put some jelly in it and forget sopping up any ribboncane syrup with one--it just ain't going to happen. I'll have to look for some of your Mary B's brand. Where do you get it?
I really like the looks of that stove you have there!!

winn Dixie for the biscuit. The stove was my grandmothers. It is a Kenmore Kountry Kitchen she bought it new in 74 I believe. It's a little finicky sometimes but still cooks good. I have replaced all of the heating parts. My wife will hint around about a new stove every now and then but I talk her out of it. The top lifts and I have a guy looking for a smooth cook top that will fit right in the top area. I think if I do that I can keep it for another 40 years. Thanks

That looks good, thanks! I love cream gravy over tomatoes in season, so we have sliced homegrown tomatoes with biscuits and gravy in the summer. But it never occurred to me to put the tomatoes IN the gravy. I'll be trying that. Might add a shot of cream to it. Love the stove, also. I have my grandmothers 1930's or 40's gas stove in the barn, one of these days I will find someone to put new guts in it and put it back into service. She used it until she passed away in 1999.
