Today's Harvest

It must be a good year for cucumbers. We have had so many that the cows get some every night! Not such a great year for tomatoes though. :( I don't know what's slowing them down. Plenty of blossoms just not a lot of fruit yet.

Tomatoes seem so finicky with the weather. I've always thought cucumbers are the easiest, don't disease, etc., if taken care of properly

If its been real hot, that could be the culprit. Blossoms wont set when temps are much over about 90.
It could also be a pollination problem. If there arent any bees or other pollinators around, you can pollinate by hand pretty easily. Just touch a finger to each blossom, or pick one blossom and touch it to the others. There are sprays for setting tomatoes and peppers, too, but I always just found it easier to do it by hand
