Jo it's not like he is a commoner, he has a title he is just another one of those eccentric guys who refuse to use it. He had a castle and family seat, sold off like a lot of them to pay debts, and then run away to another Country. Good luck to him, although he is not the only one that they think should be the real King. All of it is a load of hog wash their all a lot of hangers on, don't know why we are stuck in the middle ages having to have a Royal family, that is just my opinion (as you can see I am not a Royalist).
 
I think your opinion is shared by more than a few. Don't really understand the whole royalty business myself even though my daughter is a princess. ;-)

:shock: Nah, they are still breathing. Ain't no queens in this family ..... well there is my wife's cousin whose a little light in the loafers. You'd never know it though.

Alison, I don't think I'll have a choice in the matter. Don't plan on going out of my way to watch it but every channel on t.v is filled with stuff about it. You'd think we were part of England by the news coverage and for some strange reason most people I know sortof are proud for them as if we had a dog in the race. I guess our ties run deep. Personally, I wish them the best.
 
I really hate the word "commoners". Get rid of the Queen/King and others and everyone will be "royalty". Can't believe England still has the House of "commons" and the House of Lords. Seems the caste system is alive and well.

Only when it suits them. I may be a commoner but I am not common, I was bought up well by my parents and was taught right from wrong at a very early age. and I agree with you, all of this nonsense should be dropped in this day and age.
My TV will be off for most part of the day, couldn't careless what her dress is like what colour her flowers are and if all the Queens horses and all the Queens men are the same height and colour, what a load of :bs: it all is. My hubby reckons I'm turning revolutionary, and I think he may be right, as the Great has gone out of the Country, and we should be known as just 'Britain'.... now we are no longer a United Kingdom so I don't know why we have to have two names to the little Island. jm:2cents:worth. If only the 'National Front' would work but I feel it is to little to late, and not just for us.
