It's a nostalgia thing, I guess. Plus they were the best off-road tires around. It is kinda like I go to car shows, and see '69 Z28s, 70's model Chevelles, Challengers, Mustang GTs etc. And people talk about how these remind them of their youth, etc. And these cars will have radial tires and wheels the same size. This is NOT how they looked back then, First thing you did when you got one back, then, was put air shocks on it, and L 60's on back, with D 70's on front. And an 8-track player under the dash, with a pillow between the bucket seats for your ole lady to sit on!
