Tire Changer

I bought one of these a couple years ago. It has payed for itself many times over. I have changed every size tire from a lawn mower to a 24" front tractor tire with it. It makes changing a tire pretty easy. If your like me and have what seems like hundred tires around the farm on wagons, trailers ..... and so on seems like there's always one that needs fixing.

I need to get one when I finish the shop , All I have ever used is a slide hammer and tire bars . The neighbor has a coates machine but he is usually not there when I need a tire changed

The best thing about it is that it holds the wheel and keeps it from moving around so much.
Iam sure Earl does a fine job but I bet Earl doesn't work on week ends and after hours when things usually breaks.

I have one from Harbor Freight. Sure beats wrestling them on the ground.

Talked the boss into getting one of these a few months ago. It's halfway paid for already, not including the convenience factor.

I have two guys. Mike does the small vehicle tires and Arlan does the big tractor tires. Both are really great guys.

Sure way to make your kids hate working on tires is throw a 8 lb sledge and 3' crowbar at an 8 year old and tell him to get to work on taking off a 16.9-30 tire. And don't let him take any longer doing it than the shop down the road - we are trying to save money AND time. And if he isn't working hard or fast enough, be sure to let him know how useless he is and he would never make much of a worker in a tire shop - as though that is his lifelong dream. Yeah, I don't miss those days.

I have threatened to get one, sure would be handy sometimes, but my experience is sort of like Aaron's. And last year it wasn't flats, it was ruined tires and if I gotta spend 150-600, screw it you mount it for whatever, cause I'm already mad.

One of these are very handy also to get the wheel off in the first place especially big truck dual wheels They are nice and compact to keep in the cab. I used mine in anger again the other day when I had a blow out on a remote road while delivering a bull, it was a hot day. Sure beats carrying a long cheater bar and having to jump on it.

One of these are very handy also to get the wheel off in the first place especially big truck dual wheels They are nice and compact to keep in the cab. I used mine in anger again the other day when I had a blow out on a remote road while delivering a bull, it was a hot day. Sure beats carrying a long cheater bar and having to jump on it.

I would rather prefer to use a cordless impact gun. Best to be as quick and fast as possible changing a tire before a brown snake sneaks up and bites you in the azz.

Do them all myself with a bead breaker and some tire spoons. The "local" tire shop is 45miles away and only works normal biz hours and no weekends and certainly no service calls. So there really isn't any other option than to do it myself. Most tractor size tires are easiest to do with the rim still on the tractor.

Well Aaron, even the local truck tire place pulls out the torque multiplier to crack the nuts on my truck. Their heavy air impact guns are not up to it. The cordless impact gun sits in the shed at home whereas the torque multiplier lives in the truck.
