This one has our county shook up

Who killed them CB?

Don't know this is a twisted up mess.
No witnesses just two shots reported fired, it is pretty secluded where the church is located.
This was planned and well thought out.
Both shot in the head with a 30-30.

whoa you could tell that baby was really loved . I don't understand how people are anymore stuff.
like this used to shock the heck out of me . now I shake my head and say, what next ?

keep us informed I would say it leads back to the grandparents or the mother

That what I think also

Nathan Maddox's ex-wife is out on bond in Tyler County, charged with methamphetamine delivery and possession, and has also been involved with counterfeit money, according to his attorney, Ryan Deaton.

Or some of the mother's associates.
Took a mighty cold blooded son of a gun to shoot the woman and leave a bunch of kids orphaned.
What scares me is a good lawyer can cast enough doubt to make a conviction hard as they are several players to put reasonable doubt in the minds of a jury.
They have no murder weapon or witnesses.
So unless they get a confession this is mighty thin for now.

This is not the kind of crime a woman usually commits.
They would walk up and empty a pistol in someone they are mad at.
To shoot two people walking across a church lawn with a deer rifle sounds more like a man was behind this.

i know how it feels to loose a child and then fight like hell to get them back.. and being a woman. and the other people being dead now in my case i can say this ... if i had the means and tight alibi . .. i would've shot them dead. and gotten my kids back. I was that blinded by emotions. God knew this and made sure that I had nothing but Him to rely on. Both people died of illnesses I had nothing to do with. How cold and cruel can someone be to take a child that is NOT being abused or harmed in any way from a parent.. just because they can? I read what that man wrote on that blog and I agreed and understood exactly what he felt. The grandparents..specifically grandfather is most likely the person to fire the shots.. He wasn't at the visitation, but he knew it was going on and he also knew just like everyone else that eventually the guy would get his daughter back and then the grandparents wouldn't be able to see the little girl much anymore or at all.. I bet that little girl is as sweet as she can be and very much loved by her grandparents..so much so that grandpa isn't giving up his grand baby to "that man" now he doesn't have too and unless they can find strong evidence and the weapon... no conviction.. without confession. super big hugs to all those kids left behind...

You don't hear of people being murdered with a 30-30. My first thought was a man did this. I figured a friend of the mother or someone see hired. I didn't think about the grandfather like Shantilly speculated but she may be right. Do they know how far the shooter was from them?

I haven't heard on the distance.
Right across the road from the church is clear cut pine plantation.
That would be a good hiding spot.
As of this morning they still haven't found a weapon.
At least they called in the Texas Rangers if they hadn't I wouldn't have much faith that it would ever be solved.

I was just thinking that since they were both shot in the head the shooting may have been very close like in execution style. If they were shoot from any distance at all that took a pretty good rifleman.

That info hasn't come out yet but I agree that would take some pretty good shooting from a distance.

Since meth was mentioned, it will fry a persons ability to reason right from wrong. It burns a whole in part of the brain that helps to reason. I don't put anything past a meth addict or old user.

That is horrible.

New twist heard the woman (new wife) was shot first then the X.
Maybe it wasn't his ex that had anything to do with it. Maybe it was HER ex.

The "out on bond" part sticks out at me. We can't seem to keep criminals where they belong anymore. Not saying she did it, just sayin.
