Texas Parks & Wildlife planted deer in this county 20 or so years ago and just opened a bow season 3 or 4 years back. Been some terrific deer taken both with vehicles and bows. Kinda gives me the itch to go buy a bow since they are really thick.
 
Between us and springfield this morning, about 60 miles saw more dead bucks along the road then "road gators"

You guys need to set up some of those fancy "Deer Xing" areas so they can cross the road safely.
 
I used to drive the highway from Brady to Llano a lot at night. Always a treacherous drive. Not real big but there were tons of 'em.
 
I whacked one this spring at night.. right around a blind corner, it was browsing on the backside of a shrub.. and of course darted right in front of me. Just by fluke I had my .22 with me and finished it off.

That is a really nice buck
