It appears one of my neighbors can now know who is illegally dumping brush and other trash on their land so will the sheriffs office lol It will sure be funny going to ask for your truck from the people you were illegally dumping brush and shingles onto their property. My suggestion to them if your gonna do stuff like that get a stronger winch pay attention where you are backing up at lol.

If I were your neighbor I'd take my 4wd JD and use the bucket to mash that POS flat. There wouldn't be much left of it.

Then pile all the junk and about 20 yards of dirt on top of it.

He needs to get a loader and dump all of the crap back into the truck that the jerk has dumped

That reminds me of quite a few years ago when I was working for a beekeeper. Someone had gone into one of the remote bee yards and apparently thought it would be fun to push the hives over with a truck. When we got there and found all the hives turned over we discovered they had also lost their license plate. Even if they noticed when they lost it it's not like they could get out of the truck at that point and get it (or at least not without getting out in the middle of a lot of p***ed off bees).

Back when I was working away from home a guy ran thru one of the road fences here. He went out into the pasture, turned and ran back thru at a different location. He did the same, lost his tag. Wife called son-in-law whose with sheriff's dept. Seems the guy went on to hit another vehicle head on. He was found to be driving under the influence.

Leave the truck where it is. Plant a bunch of fence posts around it. Put them in deep.

Put up a bunch of old wire around it.

Dig a deep trench across any access to it.

Put up a big sign announcing you have found a truck and anyone who wants it should come and talk to you about the cost to retreive it.

The cost?

Full clean up of all garbage - and any and all fence repairs required to enclose the area.

To ensure that happens, I would open the hood and remove a few vital wires so the vehicle does not start. There is no need to damage the vehicle - those wires simply slide on and off.

I would also set up a nice video of this and put it out to the local news media - so that others would see this vehicle - or failing that I would invite the local media down to do their own investigation.

Despite being ticked off about the whole thing, I would do my darndest to have a little fun with it at the expense of the owner. You could make this a great local interest story!

Cheers

Good idea about having fun with it .. it would also be great to clip a fuel pump wire

That sounds like a lot of work and wasted diesel for a bunch of bums that might have $100 to there name. You would never see a dime of that money.

If I didn't see my money then they will never get to retrieve their truck. And that winch alone is worth more than it would cost to dig a trench around the truck. Can't sell the truck but if it is there long enough you could part it out.

If you have a torch or plasma cutter you can sell it all day long in sections lol Scrap yards don't mind. It should bring 300.00

I admit that smashing the thing to bits may be the most instantly gratifying way of doing it.., but bez I think has the 'most proper' way of doing it..

To have some fun, you could crazy glue all the keyholes, replace all the heavy duty bolts that hold the winch on with 1/4" grade3's... Or put some valve grinding compound in the various places that have oil, and make sure to get some high tensile wire wrapped around the driveshafts too... Oh, don't forget to turn their headlights on and siphon out their gas, maybe replace with some diesel?... it doesn't look like a diesel, but loosening up some head bolts and bell housing bolts could be interesting for them too... Electrically operated 4wd, well, disconnect that one.
