 Ok, It has to be my luck...yes it's one of those, it only happens here stories.......thank goodness it's been a while huh?

Ok, I love dogs, especially served with A1 sauce..................Naaaaaa......just kidding all.

Ok, well, Our very favorite Great Pyrenes was killed approx. a year ago, after we had her for only 8 months or so  ................the one that followed her lasted a month before it too went to the big kennel in the sky :( ............

I was given one that was very well trained, with a very good history earlier today................I was so excited to have such a great dog, and to show the Boss and our daughter our new livestock guardian ............I put it in our catch lot to calm down for a few days,,, get it used to us,and this farm and vise versa...............brought it out some good grubb, and was bonding like two old pals....I turned to go into the house and get something else for her................and I still haven't a clue how she did it................but needless to say it happened that my neighbors up the road say they saw her as she ran to the top of our pastures, and over the mountain...........searched through the rain shower we got ( a teasing rain so badly needed!) and until it got dark..............oh well....... good thing this all happened before anyone else got home for the evening, as I have yet to even mention to the family that we even had gotten a new dog, well HAD a new dog......for it was here all of TEN MINUTES!..........yikes!

Guess thats a new record for me

Dang, Medic! You've been having a heck of a time here lately! :( Don't be surprised if she turns up at her old home. Hopefully nothing will happen to her between your place and where she came from.

ROFL!!! Sounds a bit drastic, but will probably work as long as she doesn't chew the rope in two.

I hate to say it, but the same dern thing happened to us.

We got a male Pyrenees from a neighbor -were looking for a pup, he had an adult and no longer had his goats or something. Anyway, we brought him home. I swear he was reading the road signs. We show him food, water, play with him, then WHOOSH! he's gone. I went inside for something, came back out, and No Dog. He turned up at his old house a couple of days later, after traveling about 10-12 miles.

A couple of months later, we bought a female pup, and she sticks around here pretty good. She ranges pretty well, but with virtually no neighbors, it's okay.

Sorry about your non-dog, Medic. Better luck next time.

Sounds like the dog Chevy Chase brought home in "Funny Farm." Remember he opened the door of the car and the dog ran away immediatly. I'm not laughing at you Medic, I'm laughing with you. Maybe he'll come back.

ctlbaron: We had a dog, Old Dog, that reminded me of Yellow Dog in Funny Farm. And we thought about that first one, too, when the Pyr. disappeared from here :)

CKC1586: Our female barks a little more than what I've been used to in the past, but I still like her. She barks at night alot, but then again, I think of it as her doing her job. The male doesn't bark as much, but he's younger and doesn't seem to be the dominant one.
