I just bought some heifers. I was intending to breed them right away, but now they are home I see they need worming, delousing and are thin. Not desperate, but thin. I will worm immediately and be paying special attention to feeding, but going into winter would it be a bad thing to breed them? They will have decent pasture come spring, and the hay is excellent.

You've got 9 months to get them into calving BCS. Plus a gaining cow/heifer will settle better then one that is losing or just maintaning.
