Our "puppies" that were born last August aren't so little anymore. They are still figuring some things out, but they are right in the thick of all the action this summer. These pictures are from the training pen where we keep the yearling heifers early in the spring, but the summer work to bring pairs in for vaccination and sorting is about to begin.
Punch has developed the habit of anticipating what the cattle are going to do and jumping to try and hit a nose in the air. It's impressive.... but still scares me some days. Hilarious when he reads them wrong and tumbles instead of grabbing a nose. Cyclone is solid as a rock, just circles until cattle break bay, then hits like a hammer.

Just for fun... Punch learned that fishing isn't so stupid after all. That darn stick brings fish to the bank... and fish equals FUN!
These little devils have been a hoot, I'm really looking forward to the future if this is what it brings us!
