I've noticed an uncanny ability for cows who are on their third strike to be mighty silent.. I have a couple of them that are late calving, and I can forget to feed them for a day, and they don't say a single word about it, Seems they don't want to bring any undue attention to themselves.. Meanwhile, the ones with calves do nothing but complain all day with full bellies. They know they are on solid ground (at least for now), and aren't going to be able to pizz me off enough to ship them, the late ones know better!
