The missing train

There are 2 trains A and B .Trains A and B each pull into the station every hour .Every day little Tom's grandpa takes him to the train station at a different time of day, they then wait until the next train pulls into the station,then leave . After a year went by little Tom ask grandpa, why after a year have I only got to see train A six times and train B all the others ? What should grandpa say ?

We went at the same time 359 days out of the year and 6 different times when train a pulled in. Crowderfarms has the best answer.

:lol: For that answer to be correct I would have had to say grandpa Crowder, so I think we will have to count that one wrong . Nice try though.

The solution to this problem has to do with intervals . If you can imagine that train A arrives at 1 minute after the hour, train B arrives 59 minutes later on the hour .So, the only way to get to see train A arrive at the station is to be there in the 1 minute after train B arrives . Since there are 60 minutes in an hour and grandpa and little Tom come at a different time every day , at least once every 60 days they will see train A .
