To those who followed the thread on "Bad Check":

Fire Sweep Ranch received a certified check as final payment for the Corgi puppy Kris sold to a party in Ohio. The saying "Better the Devil you know" applies here. I called the party who issued the bad check in the amount of $650 three times. All three times, I only revealed that I lived in Maysville, KY. I figured she could confirm that by tracing the number I called from. No threats, just stated the options being offered to her that would resolve the matter. I was the "Devil she did not know". It took some time, but I bet thoughts of a redneck from Kentucky passsed through her mind now and then.

During my visit to Fire Sweep Ranch last week, Penny, the mother of the puppy, fell in love with me. She would lay under the chair where I sat down. She crawled upon my lap and fell asleep several times. It is a mutual love affair. That dog is the sweetest dog I have ever seen. I got to get one. I love Blue but he is not as affectionate as Penny is. Maybe Kris will give me a discount on the next litter.

What is amazing is that the check arrived while you were here visiting. What is the likelihood of that? It had been almost 120 days since they wrote the bad check, and at least 60 days since any contact. I told you Ron that most people are good, it just took them a little longer than average to prove it ;-)

I love corgi dogs, they are loyal and a good work dog around the cattle, as you saw Ron. And, since you did help me with getting my money, I just might give you a discount next spring when she has another litter!
By the way, Penny told me to tell you to tell Blue that he needs to move over because she is taking over your heart....

I still think a person who does what she did is a crook. I know everyone has some good in them but I doubt she would have lifted a finger if I had not put some pressure on her.

I want one of you corgi pups. That is for sure. I love Penny.

Congrats to both of you on collecting on that check! Kris, you might want to open a Paypal account because Ron told me he doesn't want to start another career in collections.

Ken, no threats of broken bones. But after 35 years in enforcement work, you get an idea of how to get inside people's heads. As I told Slick, it is not a career I want to do again.

John250: I will always have a place for Blue. But, heelers and corgis are so different. I want one after being around Penny. They are extremely affectionate. Being small and easy going, they would make a nice pet to grow old with.
