The post about chicken houses reminded me of this. These folks got sent down the creek this spring by a flash flood on Onion Creek at their farm here in Austin. What I found interesting was the total revenue and the fact on the farm here they only had one full time employee. All the birds survived the flood but they lost all their infrastructure which really wasn't alot. An old chevy truck and some chicken tractors. They get @ $8.00 for a dozen eggs last time I checked! (. I'll recheck that price when I go to the store in the morning). Pretty decent profit for letting a bunch of hens run around on 16 acres and one Mexican man to gather eggs!
