This problem continues to get worse and worse down here. Texas is having to cover the lack of resources being provided by the Fed govt to help secure the border and protect BP agents. Every day traffic is stopped for bailouts on major roads, bodies are being found regularly, fences cut, properties trashed, etc.

Now BP can't ever respond to the calls dues to lack of resources. We just get warning calls like you get for bad weather saying there is a herd of illegals passing through your property to be aware and check for damage. They are watching them with drones but can't do any thing about it some times.

There is a huge misallocation of resources being given out to every thing but securing our border.

It's a shame when BP and DPS and other law enforcement are encouraging people to carry guns on their property. They will flat out ask you... you are carrying a gun when you are out here right?

It's hard not to question the motives here. We hunted singular men down out of caves in other countries but can't stop groups of 100+ people.

What's bad is BP is telling me these people are being told to come that it is OK and they will be made citizens. One guy was telling me he was working on the river a couple weeks back and it was in the low 40s and a group of people with little kids, less than 5, were crossing the river. The kids were walking through the water also. He said they were just amazed and asked the parents what if the kids got sick? What was yall plan... to sit in the brush and freeze after that?

Here in the US they will take your kids away and label you a bad parent for disciplining your kids but if you drag them across a river in 40 deg weather you are a hero.

I had a dozer move in on a new property a couple weeks ago and the first day, only a couple hours in, the operator found a deceased young man in a camp in some thick brush. I was told he was like number 181 in that county and they would crack 200 or get real close by the end of the year. Think about that, a dead illegal is found every 1.8 days in that one county alone, which is pretty remote and made up of large properties. That's not counting how many aren't found.

They said last year during the freeze they fund five men huddled under a tree who froze to death.

This is a horrible deal for every one, all the way around. It makes no sense. These people are being exploited for some kind of gain.

Let me know who "we" is so we know where to send the bills.

The quality of work has gone way down now. It's not even worth having them come. Every business down here has one fat owner and multiple crews of illegals. You get what you get with them which is usually one step above nothing at all.

"They" are a mysterious group that hides in the shadow.

I would like to know who they are too

Earlier waves in decades past were higher quality. I think now "we" only want warm bodies to help perpetuate the wealth and power of "Them".

Use to it was the allure that if you worked hard you could make some thing for yourself here, the American dream. Now, they have the same problem as pwople here, it's all about what can get out of it.

Use to illegals would work their way through the ranches. They would offer to do odds and ends like fence work in exchange for water, food, shelter. Now they are cutting fences, cutting water lines, and stealing their way through them.
 
Worked some jobs years ago and the contractor had hand laborers galore. They were from Guatemala, were actually tree planting crews that were brought in. You had to wonder for the bids on the jobs how it all worked out. Later it was told that the crews lived in the back of several semi trailers without water or facilities. Likely, the same trailers they came east in.
 
20 years ago we worked wetbacks. I was wrong to do so. I haven't since and won't do it again. The people that do are the problem. If you want to hire labor pay what it's worth and make sure the taxes are paid. If you're not willing to do that hire someone who does. Otherwise you are the problem.
 
It's my understanding, that in some (maybe many?) cases, their false documentation is so dang good nowadays, that an employer doesn't always know.
I do agree that knowingly hiring illegals is a huge problem and it IS still happening but should be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law, but I also believe, the problem NEEDS to be stopped AT the border.

We need a good defense on both

Stop the border crossings with utmost diligence and vigor.

Put a viable employers system in place to check residency status. It should also be available for law enforcement when they check your license, registration and insurance during a traffic stop as well as used at voting time.

Plus, create some type of guest worker system
