One of my men was going to pick up a hay ring.
Drove one ton dually with trailer into pasture, Would have been to hard to carry out. :mad:
Got truck stuck. :mad:
Took backhoe out to get truck out. :mad:
Took skidsteer out to get backhoe and truck out. :mad:
Pulled myself out with hoe. :D
Went back 2 weeks later drove the skidsteer and truck out. :D

man that sucks to get all that stuff buried.reminds me of a quicksand bog.i know if it was me i couldnt keep from being madd at my hired hand.
 
Might have been easier to just flip the hay ring up on it's end and roll it out!!

Cleaned them up, work great. All that sand can,t be very good for them though.
 
holy cow thats some buried equipment if i ever saw any. Although I have seen a few hydro axes, track hoes, and big dozers stuck past the tracks. I just wonder how long it takes to get them out.

Backhoe 30min. Pulled itself out with the extend ahoe and 4 wheel drive.
Skidsteer and truck 2 weeks.
Had to dig out the Bobcat and replace the starter. Didn't like the water. Back door would not open until I dug it out. Stuck pallets under tracks, shuved them under with bucket and drove out. Articulated loader down the street went down the same way, same day. D6 cat rolled over next to ditch across town the next day. We had just about enough rain. Really the first good rain in the last several years.
 
My hoe is a bit bigger and heavier. That only means it will sink faster. :lol: :lol:

I drove off in a hole once and had to use the extend a hoe, tied to several chains on the base of a mesquite tree, to pull myself out. Dragging 150 foot of chain is no fun! If I would have had anyone else there I would have gone and got the Caterpillar, but I was all alone out in the middle of nowhere.

I was pulling slabs of limestone once and the bank fell out from under me with the hoe falling off in the pit on its side. Scared the dickens out of me. I got in on a 45 degree angle or so with the left outrigger and swung the bucket (gingerly) to the left. I righted the hoe eventually and pulled in on down into level ground in the pit.

Hydraulic power is what it is all about.

When I am in a mess like that, the last thing I would want is someone snapping pictures of it :lol: :lol:
 
Goodness, forget the pics I would need a new set of clothes for sure. :oops:

Thanks for posting though - Do you have cattle on that place? Do you worry about them getting in that sinkhole?

Not when they got stuck. I do now.
Thats where I wean calves and keep bottle babbies.
The ground on top was really stable. I drove toyota tacoma all over the same day with no problem. There must have been a thick crust on top, and the extra weight broke through.
