teeth grinding

I have a 12 day old bottle calf that I've been treating for scours. Drenched him w/electrolytes twice yesterday, oral scour medicine, Batril, and vitamin B shot. This morning he seemed completely better--he was up on his own at the gate wanting his bottle of milk and took it. Went to church and came home to find him back down and grinding his teeth. I haven't had one grind his teeth on me before I am correct to guess he's in pain? Any suggestions? Its Sunday and I hate to bother the vet.

Cattle with a fever often grind their teeth .My guess is that your calf was better this morning in large part because of the extra fluid you put in him yesterday . I would continue to give fluids between milk feedings . I think I would give him a couple of quarts yet tonight .
