Tattoo pliers?

Thinking of getting a set to do our own tattooing. Usually just have a few to do a year but would save running them thru the chute at the vet's office.

Are the rotary pair any good?

Or should I look at a more basic pair?

The basic kind are a true pain, trying to keep up with all the letters and numbers.

We use the revolving head type. only have to change a couple of characters for each animal, but we use a set herd ID in one ear and change the other.

Please don't think I'm stupid, but do you have a picture of what that does on cattle. I am trying to learn about cattle. It seems like a good idea, and maybe we could use that on our cattle.

Is it just like numbers and letters being tatooed on the cows? Something like people getting tatooes?
