Joegee, you somehow forget the way government works and how they most likely will deal with the "evil potato". First they will pay potato farmers not to grow potatoes then add a potato tax to run up the price. Turn all potato advertisements into educational spots on the evils of the spud and set up hotlines for those addicted to them (of course, paid for by a class action suit settlement). Oh yeah, following these "adds" will be another for all the "poor, hungry children" that don't know where their next meal is comming from because their isn't enough money to be spent on "education".

And never forget......potatos cause global warming. :lol:

Learned you can make a sandwich out of anything and still do. I ate allot of mustard sandwiches.

Who would cook it? Apparantly you haven't been in a lunch room kitchen lately. I think warming something up is about the most you could expect.

I was speaking to a fella who has been on tv several times and runs a commercial hog hunting outfit. His company built a commercial processing plant and offered to give the prison system the processed pork so they wouldn't have to waste them. They refused it. :shock:

Our little school provides three squares a day plus snacks. Most of it is home grown and the kids have to help grow it/kill it/cook it... homeschool is the only way to go. :nod:
Our kids in the public schools are learning WAY to young that all good things are provided by the govenment.

I haven't been in a lunch room lately. They have to put a meal out there for $1.75. I think I read that somewhere. Geez, that's not going to put a lot of steak on the plate. And it isn't going to put any organic veggies on the plate.

Of all the government social programs Home Economics was among the best. Learn to cook, to preserve, to feed yourself. My mother was in a home economics club. She learned to sew. She made my clothes for a while. She balanced our diet.
Sadly, it was totally sexist and fell out of favor. RIP.

I wonder if the VA P farms still grow their own food. They used to also trade with other states for clothing and tobacco.

I'd never consider marrying a girl that couldn't or wouldn't cook, no matter what they looked like. I seriously doubt that 1 in 100 that graduates school now has ever cooked anything. Notice I said marry.

Indiana prisons used to grow their tobacco. I hired a guy to strip tobacco and the job lasted till mid January. He took his last paycheck to a tavern and ended up in prison, stripping tobacco. Karma.

We've suggested an ag/FFA garden suppying some fresh produced for our high school, but so far it hasn't gone
anywhere. Red tape has a lot to do with it. It would sure be a win/win for all involved. Fresh produce for
the kids and important lessons as well. Life lessons, not just book lessons.
