During one of her classes, a teacher trying to teach good manners asked: "Michael, if you were on a date having dinner with a nice young lady, how would you excuse yourself to go to the bathroom?"
Michael said, "Hang on babe, I gotta go take a leak."
The teacher responded, "That would be rude and impolite. What about you Peter, how would you excuse yourself?"
Peter responded, " I'll be right back. I have to go to the bathroom."
"That's better," the teacher said, "But it's still not nice to say the word bathroom at the dinner table. How about you, Little Johnny, could you show us your good manners?"
Johnny replied," I'd say: Darling, may I please be excused? I have to shake hands with a very good friend of mine, whom I hope you'll get to meet after dinner."
