You know I've never heard of anybody ever asking that question because Tposts are so easy to set with a loader bucket. I would tell a prospective worker the scope of your plan and then let him shoot you a price. If it sounds reasonable go with it.

Reasons one will hire another do do fence work:

• 1. Not physically fit to DIY
  2. Not enough time to do it
  3. Have other things needing to be done as well

Given this, calculate:

• 1. Hourly rate you can pay for labor.
  2. Number of T-Posts someone can put in within a "50 Minute Hour".
  3. Divide hourly rate by # of posts installed an hour.

Otherwise, you have to pay whatever someone will charge you to do the work...lot depends on how deep you put them in as well as type of soil and other conditions such as hardpan, rocks, gravel in soil.

I don't know how the ground is where your at, but in Arizona, it's horrid, and as such, nearly impossible to drive a t-post into the ground by hand. I'd suggest going and renting a large compressor (the kind that come mounted on a trailer), with the t-post driver, and get 4-5 people together. As far as I know, most equipment rental places have these, and rent them out at fairly reasonable prices.

I don't know how the ground is where your at, but in Arizona, it's horrid, and as such, nearly impossible to drive a t-post into the ground by hand. I'd suggest going and renting a large compressor (the kind that come mounted on a trailer), with the t-post driver, and get 4-5 people together. 100 posts - set by hand, One steel-in-concrete H-brace at the very top,one railroad tie H-brace and a three tie double H at a corner set 3.5 feet in solid rock - chipped out and "dug" by hand. Now the rock IS old granite so it wasn't THAT hard but the old digging bars are about 6 to 8 inches shorter now! Arizona, btw.

Haha - Okay, so it doesn't work for all situations, but with coliche, it's a life saver.

Most definitely, I have family in Sierra Vista. It looks like you're on the east side of the Chiracahuas though (Elfrida/McNeal).

Ya, I assumed those are the Chiracahuas, or at least Chiracahua National Park.

*Exactly*. Sonoita is super nice to, but it's hard to find anything with substantial land that isn't ridiculously priced...Time to move out of state.

I'm pretty much with Dun on this, a buck or buck and a half. Hire some kid to drive them, just make sure the kid know what a straight line looks like and what equal distance means.
