This could be the start of another Sutton/Taylor fued here in Texas. (I had ancestors in that one)

Yesterday things were bad. Today things were totally out of hand. Don't know what tomorrow will hold.

I could get a call to post someone's bond. I am just hoping I don't get a call to be a pall bearer. Ole Texas boys can be pretty darn stubborn. I am one of them.

A couple of months in Winnsboro Texas. A Neighbor shot his neighbor in the pasture. They were arguing over the property line. The neighbor that did the shooting had not lived there long and had just bought his place. He was carrying his pistol with him.

He was carrying his pistol with him.

Then he was looking for trouble...the fool.

BHB, you be real careful not to stand between the feuders. Is this going on in Glen Rose? Glen Rose does have a past when it comes to stuff like this.

I do not know the particulars of this case but to make the assumption that because someone was carrying a pistol means that they were looking for trouble is a little far fetched. I carry a pistol every day. I have a CCW. This does not mean that I am looking for trouble. I just want to be prepared if trouble finds me. I never go out on my farm without some kind of weapon either. It could very well be that this case in particular that the shooter took the gun just for use in this altercation....I do not know....but the vast majority of pistol toters are not looking for trouble.

Nor do I know the particulars, so I probably did jump to a conclusion that I shouldn't have without knowing the particulars.

No need to go airing dirty laundry all over the internet. This is a serious issue.

I suspect everyone is packing at this point. Everyone is offering to "help". Everyone needs to just let me handle my own affairs. There were conflicts yesterday and I wasn't anywhere around. Probably a good thing.

Oh, sorry. The way I was reading it, you weren't directly involved...just kinda on the periphery.

Its all okay Alice. Let's just say the buck stops here. I've got receipts. I now have 72 pictures. Right is on my side and no one needs to go pushing. Three days ago this was a trivial thing to me. Not any more.

jd the case in winnsboro is a hot 1.the shooter got charged in that case an as far as i know he will be going to trial over it.from what i hear them boys had been fueding for years.an someone was going to get shot sooner or later.the way i look at it it was self defense regardless of who ended up getting shot an killed.

I truly hope that doesn't happen here.

Got my thermos full of coffee. Transition to day shift is tough when you have been working 12 hour night shift coverage. Got a few days off now. Time to do some real work now. I'm outta here.

;-) I'm glad you have now seen the light! :P

Seriously.....I just figured to razz you a little......the gun control thing gets me on my soap box and that is what the anti-gunners usually assume about us pistol toten Americans.

I am glad i live up here. I have a neighbor that always has his cattle getting into my cattle. Crap happens it isn't worth someones life. We just figure it out, if they were there long enough i'll get a calf or cow or some bales as compenation we don't shoot at each other. There are fence disputes with this neighbor as well and we work it out. I guess the gun laws in canada are not a bad thing as they sit now. A hand gun not only has to be registered but you need a transport permit. It is so much of a hassle less people have hand guns. Personally i am an avid hunter and do own firearms ,but will never own an hand gun the way i see it hand guns are for close combat only in other words shooting people.

99.99% of the time it is the same way here. It is very rare for one law-abiding person to shoot another law-abiding person. One of the drawbacks to having high population densities, a drug culture and low parental involvement like we have in the states is a criminal element. Of course nowadays our media loves to report on violence to make folks think that it is very high here when actually it has been getting lower in recent years.

I carry a handgun for the same reason I buy auto insurance. I may not ever need it but it is nice when you have it and need it. I have never fired a weapon at anyone with the exception of combat situations in the military. I have used my handgun as a deterrent (twice) on would be thugs / thieves. I never had to fire a shot. I guess I could have tried being nice to these thugs and hoped that they left me alone but I took the easy route and decided to let the Kimber do the talking. Thugs were "talked" out of their evil ways that day.

Then why are you posting it here?

Didn't put the details in. Didn't point fingers.

Ya'll be careful out there. Just another case of thinking I knew someone and truly didn't. Good thing I now know. This could have been worse.

Some dog's bark are way lounder than their bite. Some dogs would like to bite if they just had the nerve.

i sure hope all goes well with your situation. you all know i ve had my share of "hatfield and mccoys saga.. with that crazy neighbor.
and im sure is will get pretty real again when fencing in the other side but ill be ready.. i have a legal box i take w/ me to the farm everyday {which is what saved my ......donkey! } the last time .. but i always always carry my little buddy too! ( 380} not ever looking for trouble by no means but will defend my self if it come down to it.. most of the time im on the farm by my self working for hours before some of the "good neighbors" come home from work .. i just feel better about beeing there with something to protect my self beside a tractor and a mule... you never know when a crazy "mountain man may come out of the woods looking for a new bride! " LOL

Hoss you are 100 per cent right on. Been there, done that. They are used more as life protectors than life takers. Of course there is no way to get nice statitics on this, so the liberals just ignore this aspect and insist on doing everybodys thinking for them.

I see where federal appeals court has struck down the law against handguns in DC. It said the 2nd amendment gives people the right and the part about a well regulated militia applies to the people. We are the militia, not just the official military forces. Expected that it may go to the supreme court.

Bhb be careful want to read your posts, not read about you in the post...... keep your temper and a clear head with what ever it is you are dealing with......take care.
