Finally proved it can rain. Little low pressure popped up SE of Austin this morning and is growing into a nice little "tropical type low". Only put down an inch of rain since noon, but hell, It has been a long darn time since it rained for 6 straight hours.

Got to enjoy the glorious day today, cause we are going to pay for it tomorrow when the sun comes out..... :nod:

Looks like we received about 2 1/4 inches of rain in the Fairfield area. Sure needed it, they only sais a 30% chance of rain. This would have been a good time to fertilize my hay pasture.

Looks like we received about 2 1/4 inches of rain in the Fairfield area. Sure needed it, they only sais a 30% chance of rain. This would have been a good time to fertilize my hay pasture.

I have observed over the past 3-4 years, fertilizing just before a June rain is a long shot. Any growth is usually burned up before it rains again. From what I saw while studying the surface forecast maps yesterday afternoon, today's rain was just as much of a surprise to them as it was to us.

A week of cloudy weather and another rain in about 5-6 days would change the looks of things around here. Now to see how the grass responds and if the Kleingrass and millet I planted two weeks ago come up.
