I come home from church and notice Milo ain't doing too good. Shivering a little and belly pretty tight...I check him again a little later and he seems a little better. I also notice the frog that was hanging around out back is gone.....
Another one of my hounds jumped on a toad early one morning on a dove hunt. That toad peed in his mouth! That dog foamed so bad at the mouth I worried. I washed his mouth out a few times and he was good to go. He doesn't mess w toads anymore! I learned a dog can't spit. :).

One of my labs that kisses everything, kissed a toad one night. Same thing. Drooling and foaming at the mouth. Gave her some bread. Figured it might be like getting the burn of eating a hot pepper to go away. It seemed to work.

And that toad never did turn into her prince!

There are some species of toads that secrete a poison through their glands. We do not have those here in CA.

We have toads here.. nothing eats them even after they've been squashed to a pancake.. I don't mind them, they don't disturb me, unless I step on one.. UUGGGG
