That is beautiful country. Lot prettier than I expected. Thought the news had said the oil companies had raped the landscape and it was ruined. :roll:

Well the left wing, liberal, money grubbin' media overstate everything to sell their story so it would be natural for them to say that drilling in Alaska was going to ruin everything. Didn't happen or at least not yet.
Wifey and I spent a week up there a couple of years ago. Used Anchorage as home base and saw the sights mostly South (I think) of there. Very beautiful country, abundant wildlife and even a ranch or two. I never saw flounder (halibut) so big before. I caught a couple of babies that weighed in at 40+ pounds.
One week isn't enough time though just in case any of yawl are thinkin about it. Alaska was one of the two places I wanted to see before I kick off.

Alaska is huge. A person has no idea until you spend some time up there. And there are more wild untouched places than a person could see in a life time.
