On a good note made Sticky Chicken tonight. THANK YOU so much for the Russian dressing, that really made it taste right. Brought back a ton of memories. :D :D


Good lord cp at least you can laugh about it now, probably not at the time though.
Your dad reminds me of my hubby, can't stand the sight of alot of blood. He held the tail of the cow while I assisted our vet with a c-section. He had a weird look on his face when we yanked that calf out.
Vet had told him that if he feels light headed to sit with his back to the wall and put his head between his knees so if he passes out he doesn't have so far to fall. :lol2:

Truck driver told me this one yesterday..

There are a few possible reasons for your flaking finish. The type of flaking looks like a result of temperature problems. Is it a water-borne or oil-borne product ?

Most likely possibilities:
Product froze at some time before application (this one is my bet) Alot of companies don't store their backstock products in heated spaces in the winter, but most often it happens in the trucks during transport

low temp(below 45) /high humidity (above 70%) at application.

Freezing temps prior to full drying after application

There are other possibilities as well, of course.
Unfortunately, the only fix is to scrape off the flakes & reapply. Sorry!

Knowing it's waterborne...I'd put money on freezing. Most likely in the bucket, but if you had freezing temps within 24 hours of application that would do it too. Did it smell a little off when you applied it? A bit like rotten eggs or sour milk?

Thanks, that is good info . We need to re seal and stain our pine log home this summer . Would hate to have the same thing that ILH is going through . All that time and especially the cost our neighbors had their log home done professionally a few years ago and it cost $12000.00. :???:

At first I read that as $1200.00 & thought "that's not bad"...then I read it again...
Perhaps we should be adding a new service to our business....Wow! ;-)

No it didn't smell like any of that.
Wonder if it did freeze at some point like you said before we got it.

It froze here quite awhile after we put the stain on.

HD there are several videos on youtube about staining, sealing and restoring a log home.

Sort of makes me wonder what would have happened if we had used the Sikkens I wanted to in the first place.
