Cows first calf was normal, weighed 110 lbs at birth, but normal otherwise. Second calf, 75 pounds heifer, normal except no tail. All of the bulls other calves were normal, just this one oddball. What gives?

Got 2 of them that aren;t relaed on the Hereford side that look like identical twins

Tightwad! Obviously you were trying to save a few bucks and didn't check the fly-swatter option on the build sheet.

I thought maybe since her calf was so heavy last year she decided to try and save on birth weight

i had a beefmaster cross cow that had several normal really nice calves and then one year she had a short tailed calf, like the tail was paralyzed. figured it was a fluke. let her have another try. same thing. figured it was the mating. switched bulls, then the next year she had "Bob" (no tail). shes gone.

 That might be something to keep an eye on. Our neighbour milks in a parlour and he docks all the tails. Some of them were taken off too short and as they kept trying to switch, but since the tail was so short it was rubbing their vagina and caused infections. The guy ended up culling all the ones he had done that way....

maybe dun used one straw on two cows ;-) or maybe Pedro was in a hurry to get the job done and didn't do it properly.

Yah, it's all Pedros fault. Since 3 of them calved in a week, maybe he was running low on squirt by the time he got to this one
