Steers, deers, calves and heifers

Help Support CattleToday:

30 days., we don't need 180 heifers, we don't want to calve 90 days and the opens are worth a lot of money.

It has been very dry here and feed is tight and expensive to buy. We won't be selling many cows but will be culling some bags etc.
I think you described it previously as eliminating the shy breeders. Do you think you are starting to see fertility improvements in your herd?

Several years ago Ken. While our open rates on cows are poor compared to others.. 8 to 10%. We are normally all but done in 45 days. I think if predators weren't such an issue our pregnancy rate would gain 4+%
