500# at Athens sold for 2.23/lb, 600# 1.91/lb

I've got 13 steers ranging from 325 to 550 I'm considering selling. My plan was to wait until May but I feel like I'm playing the stock market, I can wait it out and see if prices keep climbing or the bottom falls out.

Depends how they are gaining, not much reason to sell the lighter calves if they are gaining good and you are putting it on cheap

Not costing me much if anything really, they've been picking about all winter and we've only used about 1/4 of our hay supply. About every 6wks I'll go buy 600lbs of 14% grain to keep them used to me and easy to get up for vaccinations etc but I don't feed it everyday as I'm trying to keep costs down. I also give them co-op 96613 mineral free choice and thats it really.
