Steer pictures

Here is a picture of a few of my steer. Is it worth it with feed so high to wean and feed for a while or just head straight to the barn?

If their going to the salebarn anyway, no way would i feed em....i sold 2 that were a 100 pnd apart, and brought 25 dollars difference... you cant put that much extra weight on em for 25 dollars

Good looking steers you have there and send them to the sale barn unless you plan on keeping them until March of next year. Remember every dollar you put in them you have to get out before you start making any money.

I think he is talking about #827. He is really nice calf, through he looks bullish.

I never noticed that he looks bullish to me, at last that's what some of my steer calves looks like that.

He is a thick animal. We didn't cut them until later on. I think it was in July.

Where I'm at it's a wash either way but I don't know your market. I can get a premium price for calves that lose the milkfat on a thirty day wean and get two rounds of shots but they do go backwards some. It winds up being about even with just hauling them in and letting the buyers pay a little less for milkfat.
I usually wind up weaning the most uniform group for thirty days and all the singles that don't match just go to the sale. I won't get a premium anything for singles so they sell fat but my best bunch is set up the way buyers want them.
