All very nice cows. Can't blame them one bit for enjoying hte water either. Mine are going in more and more often and they have brahman blood. Just too much to resist I suppose.

My black cows go from water hole to water hole during this time of the year. Start spraying them with the hose and see how fast they learn to love it.

Mike, I agree. Her Dam is super long. Plus, Uno Mas does a nice job with heifers. I am excited about my prospects. Fire Sweep has had outstanding calves out of Optimizer. I think Tatum and Optimizer is going to deliver what RBB calls a "Jim Dandy".I think you remember. :lol:

They all look good. That Summer Abby heifer is pretty flashy looking.

I wonder if standing around in the water is partly a learned behaviour for cows. Until this year our cows never stood around in the water, other than to walk out and get a drink. This summer one pasture is spending quite a bit of time in the water. There is a purchased 1st calf heifer there that I think has been teaching them. The one day I found her out laying in the slough - just her head and the top of her back sticking out. More and more of them are hanging out in the water as the summer goes on, which they have never done any other year. And they red cows, not black!

Doing pretty well. Got a nice crop of bull calves this year and some real sweet heifers..good enough that I will probably dispose of at least one of the bred heifers I kept from last year

All is well. We've been blessed with ample rainfall this summer and the cattle sure show it. Don't be a stranger!
