Alright this all started last night, have small farm lease that we keep expecting hiefers and older cows. I went down last night like every other night and everybody was at the rings when I noticed an 8 yr old black cow missing( very unusual because she acts like a mother to my hiefers) when I found her at 7pm, she had a clear film around her tail and was clearly close. At this time a thunderstorm has hit and added to the ten inches of slop so I put her up with access to a lot. When I checked her this morn around 5 she had a clear string hanging out witch was cleared out by fluid wich she had been passing in short sports all night. Been gone to work all day and won't be home till 9or10. So my dad checked her at noon, and 3 still no calf. How much longer , or is it to late?

Was she alrite? Alot of times they will start to have some discharge a few days out from calving, especially after they have been laying down. If it was a continuous discharge like you were describing, she was probably getting close to labor. Hopefully you've got a healthy, new calf by now.
