I am interested in buying lightweights and bringing them up to feeder weight. But I have very little experience in this. I need to know what feed blends are working best and what meds are needed. On top of trying to figure how big to build my pens per animal.

Here in CA if you don't have pasture and have to feed much hay, there goes the profit. A 300-500lb. steer can cost you up to $100 per 100wt. and then if you sell it after it's doubled in weight you're only going to make around $100, if you're not having to feed it. Unless your hay is cheaper than ours? Although there is always someone out there you can get cheap calves from.
